The Road to Hell by Jackie Kessler begins with our heroine, Jesse Harris, aka "the former demon succubus Jezebel" reveling in her role as an exotic dancer. No longer needing to feed and collect souls our Jesse still loves the feeling that a good, old, case of lustful attention gives her. But, even better she loves the feeling that she gets when her boyfriend, Paul Hamilton, gives her when he looks at her with love in his eyes. Jesse is still trying to figure out all the things that make a person human and how she should act. Really, you have no idea how hard it is to have to put your make up on by hand, or OMG! do laundry! But, for Paul, Jesse is trying her hardest. Plus, she has this brand new soul of her own that she wants to keep clean. To make being human even harder her old friends and enemies from the Pit just won't leave her alone. Not to fear this isn't just a book about a lovefest between Jesse and Paul. It's so much more than that. Jesse is in a real pickle in this book. She wants to tell Paul about her past but fears his rejection and to top it all off she is being hounded by her former hellmates. They want her to come back to hell and try all manner of temptations to try and get her back.
I couldn't put this book down. Seriously, I opened the package in the parking lot of the post office and started reading. I probably would have stayed there and continued reading until I finished but I had to pick up LK from school. So between there and waiting in the car pick up line I read the first 80 pages. I then came home, told my family they were S.O.L and locked myself in the laundry room to finish reading it. I LOVED IT!! I thought the first book Hell's Belles
was awesome but this completely blew it out of the water. I'm putting The Road to Hell at the top of my Best Books of the Year list! It was very well written, and the humor was funny, and the drama was dramatic. It has inspired me to let my inner demon come out and play more often. Thank you Jackie for such an awesome read!

The Road to Hell sounds like a fantastic book. We all have to let our inner demon come out every now and then.
OOOH! Sounds really good. I must put it on my TBB list. :)
